Precision Assembler

Core Responsibilities:

• Assembles parts to specifications and drawings utilizing proper tools and equipment to meet time and quality standards.
• May need to remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce required fit between parts.
• Ensures parts used in assembly are correct, functional and of high quality.
• Inspects assembled parts for zero defects.
• Informs supervisor of parts not in tolerance.
• Looks for assembly or process improvements that result in increased quality and/or productivity.
• Assists in development and maintenance of assembly methods, including assembly drawings, bill of materials and written procedures.
• Seeks out additional duties when needed.
• Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with co-workers, management, and outside contacts.
• Makes proper use of equipment and tools for assembly and inspection.

Education/Experience:  High school graduate with five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be able to analyze and resolve assembly issues – a good problem solver.

Skills:  High Mechanical/Electrical aptitude, Microscopy

Training:  OSHA Right to Know and Quality management system orientation.
